South Sudan: Half of population food insecure as disease toll escalates
About half of South Sudan’s population are facing severe food shortages as its three-year civil war drags on.
And that means easily preventable diseases are becoming fatal in the country.
More than two million cases of malaria and 1,000 deaths from it – the biggest cause of death there – were recorded last year.
