Arewa Students Forum conferred its ‘2018 ICON of Community Development Award’ on Rafsanjani

The Arewa Students Forum (ASF) has bestowed on the Executive Director of the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Auwal Ibrahim Musa (Rafsanjani) its 2018 “ICON of Community Development Award”.

Presenting the Award to Rafsanjani on behalf of the Forum, Comrade Abdullahi Muhammad Saleh, ASF’s treasurer said the award was in recognition of his “immense contribution towards societal development, youth development and service to the nation”.

According to the Comrade Saleh, the recipient was nominated after a thorough deliberation and scrutiny at a recent meeting held by the Forum in Jigawa state where the awardee’s outstanding leadership qualities and service to humanity was highly acknowledged and commended.

He said thus the Forum had no hesitation to bestow on him its 2018 ICON of Community Development Award.

“We acknowledge your principle, infallible moral background and community driven development [efforts]. We are not unaware that your strategic goals and ideas have helped in providing holistic recommendations in addressing challenges in both public and private sectors.”

In his acceptance remarks Rafsanjani commended the Forum for its continued effort in advancing the development of the country, especially in the areas of education, child rights and community development and dedicated the award to CISLAC’s staff as well as members of its Board and Advisory Council.

He charged the Forum to campaign against dreadful activities such as cultism, child abuse, examination malpractices and ethno-religious crises which he described as divisive and manipulative tools leveraged by unscrupulous elements in perpetrating crimes with resultant social unrest and political instability.
